Vitor Pereira has reached an agreement to be Nottingham Forest’s new head coach, it has been claimed.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss quickly emerged as the frontrunner to be named Sean Dyche’s replacement. Talks took place on Thursday and the Reds have been closing in on his appointment.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the deal has now got the green light. He has claimed Pereira will sign a contract until the summer, despite previous reports suggesting he would pen terms until 2027.

Romano said on X: “Nottingham Forest appoint Vitor Pereira as new head coach until the end of the season. Agreement sealed with Portuguese manager who’s set to take over at #NFFC after Sean Dyche got sacked.”
Official confirmation has not yet come from the club. If all goes to plan, Pereira will be Forest’s fourth manager of the campaign.
Dyche was axed after Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers. He lasted 114 days in the job at the City Ground.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis gave Nuno Espirito Santo the boot three games into the season. Ange Postecoglou then lasted just 39 days in an ill-fated tenure, before Dyche took over.

Pereira will take charge with the Redsperilously placed above the Premier League relegation zone with 12 games to go. They have a three-point advantage over 18th-placed West Ham United, but Nuno’s Hammers have been in good form of late.
Pereira steered Wolves to safety last term but has been out of work since being given the boot by the West Midlands side last November. He knows Marinakiswell from his stint in charge of Olympiacos in 2015, when he led the Greek giants to a league and cup double.
The Portuguese also counts Al Shabab, Flamengo, Corinthians, 1860 Munich, Al Ahli and Porto among the clubs he has managed. Additionally, he has had two spells at Fenerbahce - and the Turkish outfit will represent his first opponents as Reds boss.
