“I am sure” – Chris Sutton predicts a bad day for Leeds United against Birmingham City

Leeds United take on Birmingham City in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend, looking to avoid a banana skin against Championship opposition.

The Whites take their attention away from the Premier League survival battle this Sunday with another away trip, this time in the FA Cup fourth round.

We take on Chris Davies’ Birmingham City at St Andrews, looking to avoid a cup upset and progress to round five.

Chris Sutton predicts Birmingham City cup shock against Leeds United

There’s scope for Birmingham to claim a significant scalp this week. Leeds’ focus is firmly on staying in the Premier League.

As a result of Leeds’ priorities, there’s a sense that the Blues could put Daniel Farke’s side to the sword at Sunday lunchtime.

That’s the view of Chris Sutton, who issued his predictions for the fourth round of the FA Cup. He expects a 1-0 home victory for the Blues.

“Leeds’ comeback from 2-0 down to draw at Chelsea was just extraordinary, but I can smell an upset here,” Sutton told the BBC.

“I am sure Leeds boss Daniel Farke will make some changes because he will have at least half an eye on the Premier League, and their next game against Aston Villa.

“Birmingham are going well under Chris Davies and are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions. This seems like a good time for him to take a top-flight scalp.”

Daniel Farke set to make significant Leeds United changes for Birmingham City, FA Cup tie

Farke will always insist his intention is to win every game, and name a side capable of doing so. However, we’re all expecting changes.

He cannot afford to have any injury issues from here until May. And, this game could pose problems in that regard after playing in midweek.

Jesse Marsch risked key players in the 22/23 FA Cup run, and it ultimately proved detrimental for him and the club. Farke cannot do the same here.
