Paraguayan outlet Versus Sport confirmed the 21-year-old is suffering from knee discomfort, specifically in the meniscus, and will undergo arthroscopic surgery.
“He’s going to undergo an arthroscopy and will be out for two months,” local journalist Christian Martin explained, describing the news as a major setback at a delicate moment in the player’s season.
The timing is significant. Over the past few weeks, Gonzalez had been linked with several potential destinations. Wolves talks continued with Botafogo, MLS clubs were monitoring his situation, and previous interest from Spain and Turkey had also surfaced.
