Nottingham Forest have appointed Vitor Pereira on a contract until the end of next season.
The Portuguese head coach replaced Sean Dyche, who was sacked from his position after Wednesday’s drab 0-0 draw against Wolves.
Pereira departed Wolves after failing to win any of the first 10 games of the 2025/26 campaign, although he did some solid work last season.
The amount of money Nottingham Forest have paid out to managers
This is just ridiculous, should we have persisted with Dyche?
When the manager replaced Gary O’Neil, Wolves were sinking without trace, but he led them on a sound winning run and safety at a canter.
Forest are just three points clear of the relegation zone, with West Ham playing extremely well in 18th place behind them.

Nottingham Forest confirm Vitor Pereira contract details
It’s believed that Pereira is going to sign a contract until the end of next season.
Originally, it was thought that he’d sign for the final 12 games of the season, but it would seem as though he’s got a deal until the end of next season.

Ben Jacobs believes that an announcement is imminent and Forest will have their new manager in place ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Fenerbahce.
Pereira has a wealth of experience in the management game, having overseen spells with Porto, Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, Wolves and clubs in Brazil.
Now, the 57-year-old must get Forest back on track in their quest to survive relegation in the Premier League this season.
Pereira needs to get players on side
On Wednesday, Marinakis spoke with senior players at Forest regarding Dyche, and it would appear the verdict was unanimous.
The Reds stars didn’t agree with what Dyche was asking them to do, and given the rigorous training demands, the players often felt they were too tired during matches.
Vitor Pereira is set for the Nottingham Forest job as Sean Dyche’s replacement. Are you happy with the appointment?

Pereira needs to get the players on his side, and hopefully, he will possess the ability to make the necessary changes to try and impact games that aren’t going in Forest’s direction.
Given how bad Forest were under Dyche, Pereira needs to find something for the fans to shout about again and a new manager bounce would be just the tonic for the fan base.
The length of the contract comes as a surprise, however, he knows the emphasis is now on him to prove that Evangelos Marinakis doesn’t need to part with him in the summer.
