Leeds United are one of four clubs reportedly in talks to sign Manchester City youngster Kasen Brown this month, who is set to leave the Etihad in the summer.
United’s investment into the youth setup had taken something of a backseat under the 49ers since our relegation.
However, back in the Premier League, Leeds are looking to prise talent from rival clubs to strengthen our academy.
Leeds United in talks to sign 15-year-old Kasen Brown from Manchester City
Having landed Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher from Manchester United, Leeds are now in talks to take another teenager from the same city.
The Talent Scout has reported on Instagram that United are one of four clubs that have held talks to take him from the Etihad academy. Man United, Brighton and Nottingham Forest are also in the running.
Brown is expected to leave Man City imminently, with these clubs alerted to his availability.
The 15-year-old has recently been called up to England’s U16 setup, and is said to be viewed as one of the most talented left-backs in the country.
Leeds United must start poaching talent from Premier League rivals
Ibrovic-Fletcher scored on his debut for the academy, and it shows how Leeds can benefit from looking to other academies.
We have the pull to attract players that see a long-term future at Elland Road. And, these two might be the just the beginning.
Of course, Brown has competition from other PL clubs, which shows you how highly-rated he is. So, if we can pull this off, it could represent a serious coup for the future.
