West Ham monitoring “excellent” Bayern Munich starlet who plays like Leon Goretzka

West Ham have not been shy about dipping into the Bundesliga market in recent years.

Niclas Füllkrug arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2024 — though his spell in east London ultimately proved short-lived before a switch to AC Milan.

Konstantinos Mavropanos was signed from Stuttgart the year prior, while Sébastien Haller, Andriy Yarmolenko, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández and Håvard Nordtveit are among several others to have made the journey from Germany to the London Stadium in the past decade.

Now, it seems another Bundesliga-based talent could be on the club’s radar.

According to reports from Transfermarkt.de, West Ham are keeping tabs on Bayern Munich midfielder Noel Aseko ahead of a potential summer move. Brighton are also credited with interest in the 20-year-old.

Aseko, who plays primarily as a defensive midfielder, is yet to make his senior debut for the German champions and may be considering his options in search of regular first-team football.

The Germany Under-21 international is currently on loan at Hannover 96 until the end of the season. The second-tier side hold an option to sign him permanently for around €1 million, while Bayern retain a buy-back clause believed to be in the region of €2.4 million.

Described as an “excellent” young talent and likened by Bundesliga scouts to Leon Goretzka for his athleticism and all-action style, Aseko is viewed as a player with significant upside.

If West Ham decide to formalise their interest, Bayern could yet activate their buy-back option before negotiating a higher fee — particularly if Premier League competition drives up the price.

For the Hammers, it would represent another calculated gamble on emerging Bundesliga talent — and one with clear long-term potential.
