Liverpool have gained one midfielder but lost another for the visit of Brighton in the FA Cup, with Wataru Endo ruled out indefinitely after his nasty ankle injury.
After making a rare start at Sunderland, Endo‘s night ended in agony after he was stretchered off the pitch with an injury that is still being assessed.
Arne Slot, however, has announced, “it’s clear and obvious that he will be out for quite a long time,” in yet another injury blow for the Reds.
The good news is that Liverpool will welcome Dominik Szoboszlai back into the squad after he served a one-match suspension for his red card against Man City.
The Hungarian was afforded a rare rest and will be expected to slot straight back into the starting XI at Anfield.
Whether he starts at right-back will be dependent on whether Joe Gomez is passed fit to start, which is anticipated after he played the final 21 minutes on Wednesday after replacing Endo.
With the exception of Szoboszlai, Liverpool will not be welcoming any other senior player back into their squad for Brighton‘s visit.
Amara Nallo and Kieran Morrison, meanwhile, will be among the youth players Slot could name on his bench for the fourth round tie.
