Oxford United Welcome Sunderland

--------------------------------

### Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up

Sunderland have adapted to life back in the Premier League really well and sit level on points with their North East rivals, Newcastle, in 11th spot. The Black Cats lost at home against Liverpool, marking their first home defeat of the season, and have also suffered losses on the road against Arsenal and West Ham in recent weeks. They’ve managed just two away wins in the top flight.

Oxford will be hopeful that Jack Currie could return on Sunday, although Matt Bloomfield faces a selection dilemma at the back after their midweek display. Stan Mills made his return last time out and Will Lankshear is available following his suspension. Brian De Keersmaecker and Jamie Donley remain sidelined.

Sunderland are without skipper Granit Xhaka, Bertrand Traore and January signing, Jocelin Ta Bi.

These two sides have met a lot in recent years and an Oxford victory at Grenoble Road last time they met kept their Championship status intact for another season. However, Sunderland were unbeaten in the previous six, winning five. Since the sides first met in League One back in 2018, there have been two Oxford victories, four draws and five Black Cats wins.
