Leeds United
Leeds United took a huge step towards Premier League safety over the past week. Since the start of the year, the team has been in great form.
Things turned around towards the end of last year under Daniel Farke, and now things look very promising. The Whites sit in 15th place in the Premier League and have a little cushion above the relegation zone.

The season is not over yet, but all the commotion going on around other clubs has opened the door for Leeds to take advantage. Nottingham Forest have sacked Sean Dyche, and West Ham have lost an important player due to injury. It will be very interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.
Leeds United to open talks over new deals with players
Looking into the future, reports have emerged that the Whites are already looking at tying down key players in the first team. This summer will be a crucial point for the club; they will know where they will be playing their football. Pascal Struijk, Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev and Brenden Aaronson are the four players lined up for contract extensions per reports from TEAMtalk.
All four have been a huge part of the team’s success this season. But most of their contracts are running down, with Aaronson, Struijk, and Gruev having just around 16 months left on their current deals. Ampadu will be the top priority considering that he will be out of contract in 2027.
Daniel Farke will be hoping to keep hold of them
These players have played a big part under Daniel Farke since the Championship. Ethan Ampadu came in from Chelsea when no team took a chance; and his performances have catapulted him into being one of the best players at the club. He has shown his quality on the pitch, and has earned the captain’s armband – such a player should be tied down for the considerable future.
Same with Pascal Struijk; he came through the ranks at the club and has proven himself to be a quality player. He has been a rock solid part of the backline for the last few years and should be duly rewarded for his form. Ilia Gruev was brought in using Daniel Farke’s connections in Germany; started slow but has become an integral part of the team. He has not always been a starter, but he provides value in being a solid rotation player who can step in and perform when called upon.
Brenden Aaronson was one of the worst players at the club when he arrived in England a few years ago, but now he has turned things around. He has also been key under Daniel Farke – extending his contract will be a great decision by the 49ers.
