Significant Ownership Shift: As of May 2025, the ownership structure of Salford City underwent a major overhaul where Gary Neville and David Beckham led a buyout of the other four members of the 'Class of '92.' This move officially ended the shareholder status of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville, who are no longer listed as owners of the club.

New Majority Shareholders: The club is now controlled by a new consortium that includes US-based businessman Declan Kelly (founder of Consello) and Lord Mervyn Davies, who both serve as Co-Chairs. In December 2025, the global insurance giant AIG (former front-of-shirt sponsors of Man Utd) became the club's largest shareholder through an expanded strategic partnership, further diluting the original local ownership model.

Paul Scholes' Technical Role: Despite stepping down as a shareholder, Paul Scholes remains a vital part of the club's day-to-day operations in his role as Director of Recruitment. This position allows him to oversee the scouting and signing of players, ensuring his footballing expertise continues to shape the first-team squad under manager Karl Robinson.

Ryan Giggs' Departure: Ryan Giggs officially left his post as the club's Director of Football in September 2025. Having previously transitioned from co-owner to a technical role, his exit marked the final end of his formal involvement with the Ammies' footballing operations.

Nicky Butt Steps Down: Nicky Butt, who served as the club's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), stepped down from his executive duties in late 2024 to return to coaching. While he remains a beloved figure at the Peninsula Stadium, he no longer holds a seat on the board or a shareholder stake following the 2025 restructure.

Phil Neville's Status: Similar to the others, Phil Neville saw his tenure as a club director terminated in October 2025 as part of the corporate streamlining. He no longer holds any administrative or financial stake in the club, focusing instead on his managerial career in the United States.

Gary Neville & Beckham Remain: Gary Neville and David Beckham are the only two members of the original group who remain as co-owners within the new consortium. Gary Neville continues to be the most hands-on figure among the legends, frequently representing the club's ownership in public forums and strategic meetings.

Project 92 Limited: While the individual shareholdings have shifted, the club is still technically operated through the parent company Project 92 Limited. The company's control has simply transitioned from a six-way split among former teammates to a more corporate structure dominated by institutional investors like AIG and the Beckham-Neville group.
