Harriman-Annous shows his versatility for Arsenal U21s

Arsenal U21s secured a 1-0 victory at home to Newcastle last night, with Andre Harriman-Annous proving to be the hero.

Harriman-Annous won a penalty in the closing stages of the game and stepped up to take it himself.

Although his initial effort was saved, the 18-year-old reacted quickly to head in the rebound and secure all three points for Arsenal.

Harriman-Annous, who featured twice for the first-team earlier this season, was perhaps Arsenal’s standout performer against Newcastle, with his display made all the more impressive by the fact that he was used in various positions throughout the game.

The prospect started on the left wing and caught the eye in the first half before moving into an attacking midfield position as the game wore on.

Harriman-Annous has mostly featured as a striker over the past couple of seasons but has experience of playing in different positions.

Such versatility could prove to be useful in terms of first-team chances and it will be interesting to see how Harriman-Annous is deployed at youth level in the remainder of the campaign.

A skilful player, he is capable of linking up play well and always works very hard for the team.

Arsenal U21s have been in encouraging form of late and have now stretched their unbeaten run in the league to four matches.
