Wolves have Premier League rivals circling them ahead of the summer transfer window
Rising Wolves star Mateus Mane is ‘likely to leave’ Molineux upon their pending relegation at the end of the season, according to accelerating reports.
There are plenty of rumours surrounding the Old Gold at the moment as their Premier League struggles continue. They remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just nine points on the board from six draws and a single win.
Wolves are already planning for their next season and what the summer might bring. Departures are expected and Mane is attracting significant interest from the team’s current Premier League rivals.
Liverpool and Newcastle in frame for Mateus Mane this summer
According to This is Anfield, Liverpool are ‘among the clubs’ showing interest in the 18-year-old gem. The Reds are also enduring a difficult season by their standards and will look to shake up their squad once the summer transfer window opens.
Newcastle United and Brentford have also been named as interested parties in Mane, who made his senior debut with the club just last May. The versatile midfielder has started Wolves’ last nine Premier League games and he was crucial in two consecutive appearances against West Ham and Everton.
Mane bagged a goal and an assist against the Irons to help secure Wolves’ first win of the season, and his late goal against the Toffees was enough to salvage a point in their 1-1 draw.
Rival interest in Mane won’t be news to Old Gold fans. It was reported earlier this month that the 18-year-old has been attracting attention from Premier League clubs.
During the winter window, Wolves were not willing to part ways with Mane. According to Sports Boom, a valuation in the region of £45-50 million was set by the club but given their unfortunate run of form, clubs could sign Mane for a reduced fee in the summer.
