Sweden boss Graham Potter has indicated that Liverpool's record signing Alexander Isak is eyeing a comeback for the international break in March, following a lengthy layoff due to a leg fracture sustained in December's win at Tottenham.
The £125million forward suffered the injury after scoring at Spurs, which saw him collide with the hosts' defender Micky van de Ven. The 26-year-old has since undergone surgery for the fibula fracture as well as an ankle issue and has been out of action.
However, recent snaps from Liverpool show Isak working out solo at their AXA Training Centre, including a gym session and some light football drills, suggesting that he's on the road to recovery.

These images offer the strongest indication yet that Isak will make a comeback for Liverpool before the season wraps up. Potter is also hopeful of having both Isak and Tottenham's Dejan Kulusevski fit for Sweden's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on 26th March.
The former Chelsea manager believes it's possible that both players might recover in time, telling Fotboll Direkt: "I hope they (Isak and Dejan Kulusevski) can play. But these are big injuries. It's tough to come back from injuries like that by March, but there's a chance.
"Yes, I have spoken to both of them. They are on their way back and are optimistic. They are working very hard at home in the club team in an attempt to play with us in March."

However, Slot's recent comments about Isak's injury were less promising than those of the Englishman. Last month, the Dutchman revealed that the former Newcastle United striker was still heavily reliant on crutches. Slot stated: "He's not even on the pitch yet.
"He's just out of his walker. So that tells you that he's not on the pitch yet and not expected on the pitch today or tomorrow in terms of his recovery work. It's going to take a whilst before he's back – as we knew."
No specific timeline was given for Isak's recovery when news of his fracture first emerged. Before his injury during the Tottenham match, Isak had scored three goals and provided one assist in 16 appearances across all competitions.
It took him quite some time to secure a spot in Slot's starting XI, having joined from Newcastle after a disrupted pre-season. He also sustained a groin injury shortly after the 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, which led to him being substituted at half-time.
This blow sidelined him for a month, throwing a spanner in the works of his inaugural season at Liverpool. The severity of his injury hit him hard.

Following the official announcement, he expressed his disappointment on social media: "Gutted to be out for a whilst. Time to recover and support from the side-line. I will work hard to be back as soon as I possibly can. Thank you all Reds and everyone else for the kind messages, it does not go unnoticed! YNWA."
In his absence, fellow new recruit Hugo Ekitike has been impressive it up front, sparking debates about how both Isak and the Frenchman can fit into the team at the same time.
