Liverpool Team News

Arne Slot welcomes back Dominik Szoboszlai to his squad after he missed the midweek game at Sunderland through suspension. However, Wataru Endo is out for the forseeable after injuring his foot at the Stadium of Light.

Endo joins Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong, Jayden Danns, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Stefan Bajcetic on the injured list.

Joe Gomez could feature but a yellow card would mean he misses the fifth round should the Reds make it past Brighton.

During his pre match press conference Slot was asked whether some of the younger players at the club could feature. He said: A few of them come closer and closer to first-team football and a few of them already had it, with Rio [Ngumoha] and Trey [Nyoni].

“Games like this could be an option for them as well but, like I said, it’s finding the right balance because we do play a very strong and good team with Brighton tomorrow and finding the right balance in who to play is something we are going to think about even more today.”

Yasin Ayari, Solly March, Stefanos Tzimas and Adam Webster will be missing; however, the Seagulls welcome back Mats Wieffer who has been out injured since December. Jan Paul van Hecke is also available despite having to be taken off in the midweek defeat against Aston Villa.

Albion boss Fabian Hurzeler said in his pre match press conference that he will select his best eleven. “It has to be a good mixture between bringing in fresh legs on the pitch, but also sticking with the players who did a great job against Villa. There will be a mixture, but our goal is to reach the next round. Our goal is to win this game, so we will put our best 11 on the pitch.”
