Arsenal are eyeing a move to pip Manchester City to the signing of Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon this summer, according to Caught Offside.
The Gunners have had a remarkable campaign so far this season and currently sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League, while they also finished top of the Champions League, are in the Carabao Cup final, and are still in the FA Cup too.
But despite all their successes, Mikel Arteta is keen to ensure that standards don't slip, and he wants to bring in more reinforcements in the summer to strengthen the squad, with the England international considered to be a target.

Gordon has become a key player for Newcastle in recent years following his big-money move from Everton, and that has also seen him gain recognition within the England setup and across the Premier League.
The Magpies do not want to lose their star forward for a second consecutive summer, but with Eddie Howe's side looking unlikely to qualify for next season's Champions League via their Premier League finishing place as things stand, it may well become a reality they have to face.
Liverpool, the club Gordon supported as a child, are understood to be the frontrunners for his signature, but Arsenal and Man City are also paying close attention to his situation and could be ready to enter the race too, with Liverpool also not guaranteed to be playing in the tournament next season.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are almost certain to be in next year's edition of the tournament, and Mikel Arteta is known to be a big fan of the winger.
But Newcastle will not make any deal easy to do, and it's understood that they could demand up to £95m to allow the 24-year-old to depart.
Gordon an Upgrade for Arsenal

Arsenal's current options on the left-wing are Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Eberechi Eze, but it's fair to say that as an out-and-out winger, Gordon is better than all of them.
The England international would be a big upgrade and provide more directness and pace down the flank for Arteta's side, but at £95m the price is surely too high for someone isn't the type of player who can win you a game on his own.
There are surely better options out there on the market for a smaller fee, who would have just as much of an impact, but if Gordon were to arrive at the Emirates, it would be a boost to Arsenal and a blow to title rivals Man City and Liverpool.
