Liverpool vs Brighton FA Cup fourth round team news
Fabian Hurzeler made three changes for the fourth round FA Cup tie at Liverpool.
Brighton suffered a narrow 1-0 Premier League loss at Aston Villa on Wednesday night and Hurzeler has added from fresh legs to the team.
Veteran striker Danny Welbeck started at Villa Park but drops to the bench for this one as Greek teenage striker Charalampos Kostoulas gets the nods.
Hurzeler has previously said he has to manage Welbeck’s minutes when the matches come thick and fast.
Elsewhere in the attack 17-year-old Harry Howell gets another go on the right flank after starting in the 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace and also appearing from the bench at Villa.
A good run for Harry Howell
It's a good run for Howell who is now getting more chances in the first team after Brajan Gruda was loan to RB Lipzig last month. Hurzeler will hope the the youthful duo will provide energy and skill at Anfield.
Howell's inclusion means the out-of-sorts Yankuba Minteh is back on the bench again.
Fellow winger Kaoru Mitoma has also been struggling to hit top form of late and Diego Gomez is expected to be on the left flank with Pascal Gross playing in the advanced No 10 role, with Georginio once again over-looked.
Jack Hinshelwood and Carlos Baleba will provide the legs and power in midfield with the experienced Joel Veltman at right back.
Jan Paul van Hecke starts despite managing a thigh issue and he will partner the skipper Lewis Dunk at centre back.
The excellent Ferdi Kadioglu is at left back with "cup keeper" Jason Steele between the sticks.
there's also good news from the bench as Mats Wieffer returns to a match day squad after a nine match absence following his toe injury.
Former Red James Milner is on the bench, along with Maxim De Cuyper, Olivier Boscagli and Bart Verbruggen.
