Liverpool's form set to quiet 'question marks over Slot's job', say Paul Robinson after watching Brighton win

Arne Slot guided Liverpool to their second victory in the space of a week when the Reds beat Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup.

After a 1-0 win over Sunderland on Wednesday, the Merseysiders hosted the Seagulls at Anfield in the fourth round of the competition.

Ahead of the tie, fans said Slot should leave even if Liverpool were to win the FA Cup this season.

The cost of sacking Arne Slot

It remains to be seen if Slot will be let go by Liverpool after the 2025/26 season comes to a close.

FA Cup and Champions League success could keep him in the role ahead of next season.

But if he does leave, finance expert Kieran Maguire has already broken down the cost of sacking Slot.

He said: “Would cost between £10-15m to sack Slot and coaching staff. From value perspective, danger of missing out on Champions League.

“With every position in Premier League final table being worth £3.5m then improving by four places under new manager cancels out sacking costs.”
