Birmingham City are back in FA Cup action on Sunday afternoon against Leeds United at home
Birmingham City have been predicted to beat Leeds United 1-0 by former Premier League striker Chris Sutton. The Blues take on the Whites on Sunday afternoon at home in the FA Cup fourth round. They drew 0-0 against West Brom in their last Championship outing.
Chris Davies has the chance to freshen up his side with some changes against Daniel Farke’s men if needed. The Blues’ priority this season is to get into the Championship play-offs. They are sat in 11th place after 32 fixtures and are two points off the top six.
Birmingham City vs Leeds United score prediction shared by Chris Sutton
Ex-Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City man Sutton has shared his score prediction for Birmingham vs Leeds, as per a report by BBC Sport: “Leeds United's comeback from 2-0 down to draw at Chelsea was just extraordinary, but I can smell an upset here. I am sure Leeds boss Daniel Farke will make some changes because he will have at least half an eye on the Premier League and their next game against Aston Villa.
“Birmingham City are going well under Chris Davies and are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions. This seems like a good time for him to take a top-flight scalp. Sutton's prediction: 1-0.”
Birmingham’s upcoming opponents Leeds were promoted from the second tier last year. They won the title on the final day of the last campaign and went up along with Burnley and Sunderland. The Whites have since adapted well to life in the top flight.
They are positioned in 15th as they look to avoid an immediate relegation back to the second tier. The West Yorkshire outfit are six points above the drop zone. Farke’s side came back from 2-0 down away at Chelsea last time out to draw 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues will need to be at their best to get something against Leeds. If they win, a place in the fifth round would be theirs and they would only be two wins from Wembley. Sutton believes they will have enough to cause an upset in front of their own fans.
