Aston Villa may be forced to re-evaluate their approach if they are to make a move for Sporting CP winger Geny Catamo.
According to Record, Catamo has agreed to renew his contract until 2029 which comes after there was plenty of speculation over his future.
Catamo's release clause still remains at £51m, but his salary has almost doubled and he will now trouser around £700,000 a year.
It is the second time that Catamo has renewed his deal with Sporting in little over a year amid strong interest from Villa.
The move comes as Catamo continues to be one of their best performers, and the Mozambique winger has scored three goals since his return from AFCON, where he also scored twice.
The 25-year-old has bagged 10 goals and registered six assists so far this term for both club and country.

Villa made an approach for him last summer while Fenerbache also tabled an offer of £17m that was turned down.
It is claimed that Record will now consider bids of around £17m, but given his form, the price is likely to rise, as clubs across Europe now show their interest.
And with an increased salary and greater competition, Villa may have to reconsider its plan of attack.
