Just in: Nottingham Forest confirm fourth head coach of the season

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Vítor Pereira as their new head coach on an 18-month contract.

Pereira has been out of work since leaving Wolves earlier this season, having picked up just two points from their opening 10 games of the season.

Pereira becomes Forest's fourth permanent head coach of a tumultuous 2025/26 season. The campaign started with Nuno Espirito Santo in charge, before he was sacked in September to be replaced by Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian only lasted a month before he was sacked and replaced by Sean Dyche. Dyche was relieved of his position earlier this week, with Pereira now taking charge.

Just hours after Dyche's exit, GIVEMESPORT sources revealed that Forest were in direct talks over a move to bring the former Wolves boss to the City Ground. And now a deal has been completed for him to remain at the City Ground until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Pereira will be tasked with getting Forest out of trouble at the bottom of the Premier League table. A 0-0 draw with rock-bottom Wolves was the last straw for owner Evangelos Marinakis, who felt the need to sack a third manager in Dyche to try and save the club from relegation.

Forest sit 17th in the standings after 26 games, three points above West Ham in 17th place with 12 games of the campaign in which to remain clear of the bottom three.

Pereira will be joined at the City Ground by coaching staff Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida (assistant coach), Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva (assistant coach), Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura (head of physical performance and opposition analysis), and Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes (opposition analyst).
