Nottingham Forest confirm ex-Wolves boss Vitor Pereira as fourth manager this season

Vitor Pereira is back in the Premier League

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of on a short-term contract. The former boss becomes Forest's fourth different manager since the start of the season.

Pereira, 57, succeeds , who was after just 25 matches in charge. Dyche's last act was to painfully oversee Wednesday's 0-0 draw at home to bottom-of-the-table Wolves.

Forest are hovering three points and one place above the relegation zone, with - the team directly below them - finding form. Pereira returns to the only three months after .

The Portuguese worked under Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at , delivering a Greek league and cup double in 2015. Olympiacos and Wolves are two of the 14 clubs which Pereira has managed at first-team level across a nomadic career.

He helped steer Wolves to safety last season but they failed to win any of their first 10 league games this season under him. Pereira is now tasked with preventing Forest from suffering their first relegation since they returned to the top flight in 2022.

Having been dumped out of the by side , Forest's next game will be in the . They'll travel to Turkey next Thursday to face , another of Pereira's ex-clubs, in the first leg of their play-off tie.

Forest pulled the plug on Dyche a mere 114 days after appointing him to replace , who had an ever shorter tenure. The club started the season with in charge after he guided them to an impressive seventh-placed finish.

But Forest have suffered a rapid decline this campaign, staring relegation in the face as they've often done since their promotion. At 12:31am on Thursday, a statement from the City Ground read: " Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.

"We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the Club and we wish them the best of luck for the future. We will be making no further comment at this time."
