It was another profitable weekend for two Liverpool youngsters. Josh Abe, the 15-year-old winger who has been causing a stir of late, scored a hat-trick and Josh Sonni-Lambie netted his 20th goal of the season to help the under-18s romp to victory over Leeds United on Saturday.

Liverpool, though, are keen to hold on to Abe and last week the youngster was invited to take part in training alongside the first-team squad.

He scored the opening goal against Leeds on 34 minutes when converting a pass from Hayden Murray-Holme, with his second goal five minutes after the interval a fine individual effort after being fed by Erik Farkas before completing his hat-trick shortly afterwards from substitute Oliver O'Connor's ball.

Lucas Clarke had doubled Liverpool's advantage moments into the second half when pouncing at a corner, while Sonni-Lambie later notched his customary goal from an assist by the busy Abe.

After Sonni-Lambie then missed a penalty, Prince Cisse converted a cutback by O'Connor for the sixth before Sam Alker scored a consolation for Leeds.
