Nottingham Forest today confirmed the appointment of their fourth manager of the season in Vitor Pereira in a deal until the end of next season.
The 57-year-old takes over at the City Ground from Sean Dyche, who was sacked early on Thursday morning. The Reds have officially announced the Portuguese’s appointment as he returns for another spell in English football, having been axed by Wolves in November after 11 months in charge.
Forest are 17th in the Premier League, three points above the drop zone, after two wins in their last 10 games. Pereira follows Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche as manager since September.

Pa’skal: Evangelos Marinakis wouldn’t cease to amaze not because he swallows managers at will but the rationale behind his managerial engagements. You fired Sean Dyche who has one of the best win ratios of 47.1% compared to other managers just to finally engage Vitor Pereira who is known for his “consistently inconsistent” tactical approach to games! I pray he stays until the 12th game of the season without being swallowed as usual. Good luck Pereira.
Josh: Back-to-back titles with Porto and experience in 6 different countries. This is exactly the kind of CV we need to stabilise. Hopefully, Evangelos gives him the backing he needs in January!
Dragos Stoicanea: “Experts” wrote Victor Pereira off before conducting a single training session at #NFFC. Just because Wolves had a bad spell at the beginning of the season, without at least 7 of their best players doesn’t mean he’s a bad manager. Give the bloke some time for fudge’s sake!
Psycho was back: Welcome Vitor! It appears that the key to success here is to get these players invested quickly. Bring the desire, the passion and the commitment and the City Ground could be rocking again.
Pricey: Can’t get any worse can it? So good luck.

D W Ball Project Man: He’s already relegated Wolves. Praying he’s not the first manager in #PremierLeague history to relegate 2 teams in one season.
Davy: The very best of luck and right behind you! Get these lads smiling, playing, scoring and winning. Win our hearts and watch the love flow!
Lee: Right behind this appointment. Was chopped at the knees at Wolves after performing fantastically last season. Huge week for him on the training ground.
Andrew Gabbitas: Will he make it to the end of April 26, that is the question?
John Bouri: Good luck VP and let’s hope for progression and positivity. Hope you will have a plan B and at least one of your coaches helps in improving set pieces. There is a wealth of talent in this squad and fans really want a Head Coach to bring about balanced cohesiveness.
Craig Huckle: Contract for 18 Months, that’s a surprise. Welcome to NFFC Vitor and good luck. There has already been two embarrassing appointment’s. Hopefully you're not the third.
