The English Premier League (EPL) club, Nottingham Forest, has announced the appointment of Vítor Pereira as head coach for the next 18 months.
News.ng reports that the announcement came following the termination of Sean Dyche’s contract last Thursday.
According to the club, Pereira will be in charge of the men’s first team until the summer of 2027.
“Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm that Vítor Pereira has been appointed as Head Coach on an 18-month deal.
“The 57-year-old now heads to Trentside on a deal that runs until the summer of 2027,” the club stated.
Nottingham Forest added that the Portuguese coach will be joined by “coaching staff Filipe Jorge Monteiro Almeida (Assistant Coach), Luis Miguel Moreira Da Silva (Assistant Coach), Bruno Filipe Araujo De Moura (Head of Physical Performance and Opposition Analysis), and Pedro Simao Capela Silva Lopes (Opposition Analyst).”
Following Pereira’s arrival, Forest hired Dyche on October 10, 2025, to rejuvenate the club when they were 18th in the English Premier League table. However, from the look of things, the former Everton coach failed to live up to expectations after 114 days in charge.
It is expected that, with Pereira’s arrival, Forest will exit the relegation zone, as they are currently 17th in the EPL table with 27 points after 26 matches.
The first litmus test for the new coach will be against Fenerbahce on Thursday, February 19, in the Europa League play-off, followed three days later by a clash against Liverpool in the EPL.
