Ibe, 30, has been charged in relation to an alleged assault on December 14, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The right winger, of Chislehurst, south-east London, was arrested at the airport on January 30 and taken into custody.
He has been released on bail and will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on March 6.
The former England under-21 international now plays for Lokomotiv Sofia in the Bulgarian First League, the highest in the Balkan country.
Ibe made 92 appearances for the Cherries between 2016 and 2020, scoring five goals and providing nine assists in that time.
Prior to that, he came through at Wycombe Wanderers before joining Liverpool in 2012, where he made 58 appearances in all competitions.
He left Bournemouth for Derby County in 2020, with spells at Adanaspor, Ebbsfleet United, Hayes and Yeading United, Hungerford Town and Sittingbourne in non-league football, before joining Sofia in November 2025.
