Konstantinos Mavropanos has been a regular starter during Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign, as the West Ham boss now has plenty of data to make a summer decision on the defender.

The centre-back was initially in and out of Nuno‘s starting lineups, with many performances for the Hammers coming into question.

West Ham fans have had a split opinion on the 28-year-old, who should now be coming into his prime years at the London Stadium.

Mavropanos has now started in 15 games for Nuno, but more importantly, featured in the Hammers’ starting lineup in the last 10 matches.

West Ham rejected winter sale of Konstantinos Mavropanos; he’s proving them right

West Ham rejected a late approach for Mavropanos, as Wolfsburg tried their luck in the dying stages of the winter transfer window.

The enquiry came from out of nowhere, and after failing in their attempts to land Toulouse’s Charlie Cresswell, the Hammers were never going to consider selling their Greek star without a replacement.

Mavropanos has played in 19 games for the Hammers in the Premier League

He is under contract in E20 until the summer of 2028

Though Mavropanos has previously gained plenty of transfer attention, it’s becoming more and more clear that he is essential to Nuno’s plans.

He played in West Ham’s 1-0 FA Cup away win over Burton Albion on Saturday, and has gathered rave reviews for his performance, despite it being against a League One side.

The Irons have had major defensive issues this campaign, but there’s a reason why results have picked up with Nuno remaining consistent with his selection of Mavropanos.

West Ham will sell this centre-back instead this summer

Mavropanos looks all but safe to stay at the London Stadium beyond this season, unless, of course, the Hammers are relegated from the Premier League.

The centre-half is just one of many players who would demand wages simply too high for a Championship club, and David Sullivan would have no choice but to sell.

However, regardless of the division that the Irons find themselves in next season, Max Kilman will surely be offloaded for an extremely low cut-price deal.

Max Kilman’s West Ham contract

West Ham signed Kilman for a mind-boggling £40million from Wolves, and may be lucky to get even £10million for the Englishman now.

He has shown no signs of improvement, and unlike Mavropanos, needs to be sold one way or another in the summer.
