A man who suffered serious injuries in a crash last week has died, police have confirmed. Emergency services were called to Gillibrands Road in Skelmersdale at around 9.50am on Tuesday, February 10, following reports a blue MG ZS had collided with an Apollo Falcon pushbike at the junction with Spencers Lane.
Officers from Lancashire Police attended the scene. The cyclist, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car stopped at the scene, police said.
The cyclist has now been named as Michael Knox.
In a tribute issued today, February 16, Michael's family described him as a devoted cyclist who was "rarely seen without his bike" and had a lifelong love of cycling.

They said: "Michael, fondly known as “Mike the Bike”, was rarely seen without his bike and had a lifelong love of cycling.
"A proud Toffee, he loved his beloved Everton FC and never missed the chance for a good football chat.
"He could talk to anyone about anything, picking up stories along the way and taking great joy in sharing them. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and remembered for his warmth, friendliness, and gentle spirit.”
