£31k a week Leeds United star can start packing his bags already after latest Daniel Farke snub

Leeds United

Leeds United have had a great couple of weeks across competitions; they managed to put some points on the board in the Premier League. And over the weekend, the Whites have now made a huge step.

Daniel Farke’s men have been in great form to start the year, building on how they ended last year. These past few weeks have seen Leeds position themselves in a great place in the the Premier League. The Whites are now in 15th place after beating Nottingham Forest and grabbing a draw against Chelsea. They are now six points above the relegation zone with 12 games to go.

This weekend saw Leeds advance to the next round of the FA Cup, beating Birmingham City on penalties. Lukas Nmecha scored the only goal of the game for the away side, who had to go through extra time to get the result.

Leeds United star snubbed by Daniel Farke this weekend

Just like in the last round against Derby County, Daniel Farke rang the changes against Birmingham City. James Justin, Wilfried Gnonto and Ao Tanaka all scored in the last round, and featured from the start in Sunday’s game. Lucas Perri returned in goal and Sean Longstaff got his first start since his return from injury. Facundo Buonanotte also started the game, but lasted 45 minutes as he was hooked for Ethan Ampadu at half time.

One surprising name that did not feature was Sam Byram; the veteran defender got some minutes off the bench in the win over Derby in the last round. But on Sunday he was left as an unused substitute.

Sam Byram could be out of the door this summer

Sam Byram will be gutted not to have seen the pitch on Sunday; he has featured in just three matches across all competitions this season, playing 87 minutes. He re-signed a new deal in the summer, probably to provide back up to the squad, but has barely played and at times has been completely removed from matchday squads. As things stand, it is unlikely he remains a Leeds United player beyond this season. And it is not his fault; the team made the call to bring him back with no plans of using him. Hopefully he finds a better situation in the future.
