“He is gone…”: Bobby Zamora tips “fantastic” West Ham star to leave London Stadium and “further …

West Ham’s campaign is finally showing signs of life.

Crysencio Summerville was on target again at the weekend, helping fire the Hammers into the FA Cup fifth round with victory over Burton Albion. In the league, there is renewed belief too — just one defeat in the last five Premier League games, with three wins in that run, has lifted hopes of survival.

Momentum is building.

But amid the optimism, former striker Bobby Zamora has delivered a sobering warning about one of the club’s biggest stars.

Zamora Tips Bowen to Leave

Jarrod Bowen, West Ham’s captain and talisman, remains under contract at the London Stadium until 2030. On paper, the club are well protected.

In reality, the situation may not be so straightforward.

With West Ham having endured a turbulent 2025–26 campaign, questions have inevitably surfaced about whether Bowen — an England World Cup hopeful — would remain if the unthinkable happened.

Speaking to GOAL in association with Casino Groups, Zamora did not mince his words.

“I think so. They are doing alright now, they are coming into form now and they may get away from it. If they go down, he is gone.”

He continued: “Another one that I don’t think will be short of options – and good clubs as well. It will be an interesting one. I know he loves the club, but you need to be playing Premier League football. That’s the main priority.

“He will be like ‘my priority is now the World Cup, can I get in that squad, can I keep West Ham in the Premier League, and after that we’ll have a look’. I don’t think West Ham would begrudge him wanting to get away and try and further his career somewhere else.”

It’s difficult to argue with the logic.

Bowen – described as “fantastic” by ex-Hull teammate Ola Aina — is arguably West Ham’s standout player of the modern era. He is also edging closer to Michail Antonio’s Premier League goals record for the club — a testament to his consistency and importance.

Losing Lucas Paquetá was one significant blow. Losing Bowen too would feel seismic.

For now, the focus remains on survival. But if West Ham were to fall short, Zamora’s blunt assessment may prove prophetic — and the London Stadium could face an uncertain new chapter without its captain leading the line.
