"I think": Gary Lineker shares Liverpool theory after 3-0 Brighton win

**Liverpool have won two big games back to back and ahead of a promising run of games, they could make up some valuable ground in the Champions League qualification race.**

The Reds remain sixth in the Premier League but are hot on the heels of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Wins over Sunderland and Brighton have breathed new life into Liverpool’s season after Man City’s 2-1 win at Anfield sapped much of the hope that Arne Slot and his players had generated.

Liverpool’s form is improving at the perfect time

-------------------------------------------------

He says on [The Rest Is Football](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z23KQhfs48M&t=1700s): _“I think even Arne Slot said so in the press conference after the game. He said we’re in a good place. I think one or two of the players seem to be settling in more._

_“Kerkez has been one. I see Mo Salah looking sharper. It might be a time to bring him into the fantasy team. I sense a good run of goalscoring coming. Szoboszlai is in great form._

_“So I think you know reason to be a bit more cheerful for Liverpool fans who’ve had it tough the last few months.”_

Is Slot slowly turning things around?

-------------------------------------

I will admit that I have been one of Slot’s fiercest critics this season. I’d like to think I’ve been fair, acknowledging the causes but for most of the season, Liverpool’s performances have been unacceptable.

As recently as the 2-1 defeat to Man City, Liverpool fans have been justified in their critiques of both Slot and his tactics.

But since then, a 1-0 away win over Sunderland and a 3-0 FA Cup fourth round win over has seen Slot’s stock rise somewhat with Mohamed Salah also appearing to find a purple patch of sorts.

Liverpool face Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Wolves in the Premier League next which is a huge chance to surge up the table while Chelsea and Manchester United face a challenging run of games.

Chelsea face Arsenal and Aston Villa in their next three games while Michael Carrick and Manchester United face Everton, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.
