Pundit thinks Igor Tudor could be in for a rude awakening at Tottenham as he braces for ‘heck…

TalkSPORT pundit thinks Igor Tudor faces a tough start in the Premier League as interim Tottenham boss.

After just two wins in the last 17 Premier League games, the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy felt enough is enough and pulled the plug on Thomas Frank.

Igor Tudor has been handed the interim reins at the club, with the sole aim of guiding the team away from the threat of relegation. Having assessed several options and then deciding to go for a manager who was sacked by Juventus in October 2025 has left several fans and pundits alike shocked.

The 47-year-old has a wealth of experience managing across different leagues in Europe, but alarmingly, he is yet to last more than 78 games at a single club. ESPN FC pundit Don Hutchinson feels Tottenham’s appointment of Igor Tudor is “left-field”, and the concerns are very much justifiable.

Ally McCoist fears for Igor Tudor at Tottenham

Tudor must get right down to work in N17 as he looks to steady the ship, quieten talk of relegation and win over a disgruntled fanbase. He faces an uphill task of retaining Tottenham’s top-flight status.

TalkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist believes that the Croatian tactician is in for a rude awakening early on in his Spurs career. As far as the initial run of fixtures goes, the Scot shared his fear for Tudor and how it will be tough for him to churn out results.

“Say whatever you like, but it’s a heck of a start. If I were going to be brutally honest, I would say I don’t think he would want that start,” Ally McCoist said on the talkSPORT show.

“Yeah, it’s great if you turn over your rivals, but I don’t think it’s the ideal start. I’ve not seen anything that suggests that Tottenham could turn over Arsenal.”

McCoist is spot on here! Tudor faces the toughest possible start as Spurs boss, with cross-town rivals and league leaders visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. A win over the Gunners would be priceless, while a loss in the derby would lead to more toxicity within the fanbase. Not only the first game at the helm, but the fixtures that follow afterwards will also be a big test of Tudor’s tactical acumen and man-management skills.

There is no question that it is going to be difficult for the former Marseille and Juventus boss to step straight into the Premier League without exactly knowing what is in store for him. The bar is already low, and there are limited expectations, something Tudor must see as an opportunity to prove his doubters wrong.
