Man United could see two key players return from injuries against Everton in their next game.
Man United are preparing for their next Premier League game against Everton on Monday night. If Michael Carrick’s side can win the game against the Toffees, they could go to just two points behind Aston Villa in third place, depending on what Villa do against Leeds.
The Red Devils come off a 1-1 draw against West Ham last weekend, which ended a run of four wins in a row since Carrick came in. The United boss will hope to get back to winning ways against Everton, but it won’t be easy at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
David Moyes’ side currently sit eighth in the Premier League, and could be outsiders for a European place, as they are just seven points off Chelsea in fifth place, which is likely to be a Champions League spot.
Everton injury news
Heading into the game, Moyes has just one major injury concern to worry about, as Jack Grealish is set to miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury. It was a gutting injury for Grealish, who had been performing very well on his loan move from Manchester City.
The English winger said last week: “Didn’t want the season to end like this, but that’s football, gutted. Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit. I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before.”
Everton doesn’t have any other injuries, but centre-back Jake O’Brien will miss the match as he is suspended following a red card in the Toffees’ 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.

Man United injury news
Man United also don’t have too many injury problems either, as there is just one of Carrick’s players ruled out of the Everton game, and it is Patrick Dorgu. The Danish international looked rejuvenated under Carrick before he suffered a hamstring injury in January. He is set to be out until March, meaning he could miss games against Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Aston Villa as well as the Everton game.
Mason Mount is a doubt for the Everton game, but looks more likely to return than not based on Carrick’s most recent update. He said last week, “Definitely going into the Everton game, he'll be back.” - The Man United medical staff is currently assessing him.
Finally, Matthijs De Ligt is also a doubt, but like Mount, he is expected to come back against Everton, which would be a huge boost considering that he’s been out of action since December with a lower back issue.
Carrick said last week: “Matta (De Ligt)... the Everton game feels like a long time away at the moment, so we'll see how he develops, but he's positive. He's moving in the right direction, but Mason's a little bit closer than him.”
