Ethan Ampadu makes Leeds United 'levels' declaration after fresh Whites impact with personal aim

Whites captain Ethan Ampadu quickly made a big impression upon stepping off the Leeds United bench against Birmingham City.

Thriving Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu has made a Leeds United levels declaration to go hand in hand with a determined personal aim.

Ampadu, though, proved Farke’s first port of call after a disappointing first half display from his team, the captain brought on at the interval for Facundo Buonanotte and quickly making a big impact for his Whites.

Within minutes of coming on, Ampadu was soon hurtling around the pitch, quickly putting in stellar work in both defence and attack and notably getting the away end’s approval when quickly closing down Blues keeper Ryan Allsop as he looked to clear his lines.

That, says Ampadu, was very much his intention, the skipper believing Leeds have the team and squad to push themselves for more and aiming to bring energy personally to help achieve that objective.

"I think people feed off me - and I feed off people”

Speaking to TNT Sports, Ampadu was asked about what he brought to the team personally at Birmingham but also his impact on ‘raising the levels’ of his teammates.

Ampadu declared: “I think we have got a team and a squad to do that.

"That's the thing, that's why we were so disappointed with the first half because no matter who plays and no matter how long anyone plays, we always back ourselves to show that and we didn't, we got off to a slow start.

"But for me personally to come on, I wanted to give that energy.

"I think people feed off me and I feed off people and I think that's something that we worked on so well."
