And he expects them to learn quickly about their duties off the ball as they gain experience.
Harry Howell and Charalampos Kostoulas were both thrown into the XI to face Crystal Palace recently.
Having come on as substitutes at Aston Villa in midweek, they were back in the starting team which faced Liverpool on the big stage of Anfield on Saturday.
Kostoulas, 18, led the attack, looking to trouble Liverpool skipper Virgil Van Dijk and played the full 90 minutes as Albion bowed out of the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, Howell, who is 17, had his favoured right-side role, where he was up against big summer signing Milos Kerkez.
Veltman, who shared right-flank duties with Howell, told The Argus after the 3-0 defeat at Anfield: “Amazing potential, same as Babis (Kostoulas).
“So, so young. On the ball, they are ridiculously good.
“I think Babis (Kostoulas) as well today, very good, but Harry on the ball as well.
“Yes, out of possession, they can scan more the situations and see the danger more.
“But it's experience, you know? You can see the potential. There's no limit for them, I would say.”
Howell has seen more potential chances open after the deadline day departure of Brajan Gruda, who was sometimes used on the right, on loan to RB Leipzig.
Genuine right winger Yankuba Minteh again came off the bench at Anfield and Solly March is gradually making his way back from injury.
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler reported ahead of the Liverpool game that March has worked well with the under-21s squad recently.
He said: “They played an 11-v-11 game. That was the first time that he really took part in a big game.
“Everything went fine so he's getting definitely closer.”
Danny Welbeck sat out the Liverpool game as an unused substitute but is expected to lead the attack as Premier League action resumes at Brentford on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Albion’s home game with leaders Arsenal on Wednesday, March 4 (7.30pm) has been confirmed as a sell-out.
That means the ticket exchange is now open for business.
