Igor Jesus targeted by transfer vultures – Low price for Nottingham Forest player

Nottingham Forest striker Igor Jesus has emerged on Flamengo’s radar, according to Brazilian journalist Julio Miguel Neto.

The report suggests Flamengo are closely monitoring the 24-year-old. However, there has been no formal approach to Forest at this stage. In Brazil, the situation is being described as observation rather than negotiation.

Igor Jesus joined Forest in July 2025 and signed a four-year contract running until June 30, 2029. The Premier League side paid around €11.5m (£10m) to secure him.

The report says he is currently valued in Brazil at approximately €20m (around £17m). If Nottingham Forest were ever to sell near that mark, it would represent a sizeable profit in under a year.

Nottingham Forest in control of the situation

There is no indication Forest need to sell. Financial pressure has not been reported. In addition, Igor Jesus is part of the squad rotation and has delivered goals when given minutes. He is not an undisputed starter, but he has proven useful depth with upside potential.

Meanwhile, Flamengo have been targeting high-profile forwards. They explored moves for Richarlison at Tottenham Hotspur and Evanilson at Bournemouth. Those pursuits show the level they are aiming for.

Internally, Flamengo are prepared to invest up to €30m (around £25.5m) for a guaranteed, undisputed starting striker. And Igor Jesus fit that description. He left Brazil last year as one of the country’s most prolific strikers, having scored 17 goals in 59 matches wearing Botafogo’s colours.

Adding to that, he matches their preference for players under 26 and offers tactical flexibility across the frontline.

Season outcome could shape talks

Nottingham Forest’s final Premier League position may influence the tone of any future conversation. Survival would naturally strengthen their negotiating stance. Even in a more complicated scenario, though, a contract until 2029 gives Forest significant leverage.

For now, this feels like a situation to monitor rather than a developing transfer battle. Flamengo are watching closely. Forest hold the contractual advantage and remain firmly in control of the next move.
