Tierney has been named as fourth official at the Gtech Community Stadium this Saturday.
He will be working in support of match referee Jarred Gillett.
Tierney also had the fourth official role on Saturday as Aston Villa played Newcastle in an FA Cup tie notable for several contentious incidents.
He will have been keeping order around the technical areas as Chris Kavanagh’s officiating team struggled badly in the absence of VAR.
Kavanagh has not been allocated any sort of role in the coming round of Prem matches.
Gillett takes the middle for the Bees v Seagulls tussle.
The Australian official is known for his communication skills and has refereed ten previous Albion fixtures.
The most recent was their 1-1 draw at Wolves in October.
He was also in the middle for last season’s 2-1 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup, when the visitors felt Kaoru Mitoma handled before guiding home the decisive goal.
So far this season, across a range of competitions, he has refereed 16 games, showing 57 yellow cards plus one red, which went to West Ham’s Tomas Soucek in his side’s 3-0 home defeat by Spurs.
His most recent fixture was Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Molineux.
He will have support from video assistant Nick Hopton who, in turn, will have Stuart Attwell alongside him.
Referee: Jarred Gillett. Assistants: Steve Meredith, Richard West. Fourth official: Paul Tierney. VAR: Nick Hopton. Assistant VAR: Stuart Attwell.
