West Bromwich Albion could make a move for a "brilliant" Eric Ramsay replacement, who has 99 wins to his name in the Premier League.
West Brom eyeing new manager after Ramsay's slow start
West Brom are in real danger of being relegated from the Championship, currently sitting just two points above the relegation zone, having only managed to take 34 points from 32 games.
The board would've been hoping for the sacking of Ryan Mason to be a turning point, with the 34-year-old losing his job at the beginning of 2026, but Ramsay has made a slow start to what is his first managerial job in England.
Since leaving Minnesota United, the Welshman is without a win in his first seven games as manager of the Baggies, drawing three and losing four, with his side most recently being knocked out of the FA Cup by Norwich City.
Former scout Mick Brown has since suggested the hierarchy could be forced to make a big decision sooner rather than later, saying: "If he can’t put a run together over the next few then it’s hard to see how they can stick with him.
"That said, I’m not completely convinced the players they’ve got there are good enough and that’s a big reason for their struggles, but the blame always falls at the manager’s feet."
Should West Brom decide to part ways with Ramsay, it would make sense to bring in a manager with more experience, and a report from Sports Boom has now revealed they could make a move for Sean Dyche.
Nottingham Forest's manager Sean Dyche arrives at the stadium before the match
Dyche, who prefers to use a 4-2-3-1 formation, is available after being sacked by Nottingham Forest earlier this month, with the Baggies in need of a manager who has experience in relegation dogfights, and the former Everton boss fits the bill.
Dyche could be "brilliant" replacement for Ramsay
The 54-year-old has plenty of experience in the Championship, guiding Burnley to promotion on two occasions, and given that West Brom will obviously have long-term aspirations of reclaiming their top flight status, he could be a fantastic long-term appointment.
Not only that, but the Englishman, who has 99 Premier League wins to his name, knows what it takes to keep teams up, managing to steer Everton to safety on the final day of the 2022-23 campaign.
Sean Dyche's managerial record Matches Points per match
Burnley 425 1.34
Everton 83 1.23
Watford 49 1.37
Nottingham Forest 25 1.40
Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Rob Edwards is a keen admirer of Dyche too, recently stating he was doing a "brilliant" job at Nottingham Forest, and it is a little bit strange Evangelos Marinakis chose to sack him, with the Tricky Trees outside the relegation zone.
However, Forest's loss could be West Brom's gain, and they should definitely make a move for the two-time Championship promotion winner if they choose to pull the trigger on Ramsay.
