Flamengo are keenly watching Nottingham Forest’s relegation fight with a view to making a move for Igor Jesus.

That’s according to Brazilian journalist Julio Miguel Neto who says the Rio de Janeiro-based club are ‘closely monitoring’ the striker’s situation in the event he could become available if the Reds go down.

The post on social media also reckons Flamengo are keeping tabs on Taty Castellanos at West Ham, who are in a similar boat albeit having only recently signed the Argentine last month.

Neto says Igor Jesus is valued at €20 million, twice what Forest were reported to have paid Botafogo when he signed a four-year deal in July. Since then the 24-year-old has carried the responsibility of being the Reds’ main striker, has scored 11 goals in 33 games, albeit only two in the Premier League, and has made his debut for Brazil.

It is added the interest in the Forest man comes after failed moves for Cruzeiro’s Kaio Jorge, Al Hilal pair Marcos Leonardo and Darwin Núñez and Richarlison at Tottenham.
