Igor Tudor wants Tottenham to take the game to Arsenal “in a way that our fans will like” in Sunday’s north London derby.
In his first interview since being appointed head coach until the end of the season, Tudor insists Spurs will “give everything” to beat Arsenal in his first game in charge.
Tudor has outlined what supporters can expect from Spurs under him, saying his first goal is to play on the front foot and score goals.
Tudor said: “Big week. This derby is a fantastic game to play. We want to play this game in a way that our fans will like, giving everything that we have, in the right way, brave… but in the same way intelligent and smart to achieve what we want, and that’s the victory.”
Tudor took training for the first time on Monday and has a week to prepare for Arsenal
Giving Spurs fans an insight into what to expect from him, Tudor said: “I like to be positive, I like to play offensive football. That is my first goal. I like to score goals, but in the same way for sure you need to give organisation to the defence.
“About winning or drawing, the truth is that I never saw a coach who said that he can play for a draw. It is not possible. Offensive football, yes, but smart. That’s the key.”
Tudor added: “It is a big honour for me to be here. The first priority is to give everything the team needs in these moment. The team needs, I believe, first of all to get some confidence and some courage.
