Aston Villa could be without seven players for this weekend’s clash with Leeds United, although they could also be boosted by the return of right backs Matty Cash and Andres Garcia.

Unai Emery’s men will be looking to get back on track after elimination from the FA Cup at the hands of Newcastle United last time out.

Villa return to Premier League action on Saturday, looking to eradicate the gap on second-placed Manchester City, who do not play until later that evening.

Leeds go into the game on the back of a penalty shoot-out win over Birmingham City and in need of maintaining their six-point buffer on the relegation zone.

Daniel Farke was able to rotate his squad at St Andrew’s, not a luxury available to Unai Emery and the Spaniard will once again be without key players.

Here’s a run down.

Boubacar Kamara

Injury : Knee

What’s been said : On January 28 Emery ruled the midfielder out for the remainder of the campaign: “'Kamara is a long time, I think he’s not going to play this season.”

Return date : 2026/27

Return date : mid-April

John McGinn

Injury : Knee

What’s been said: Also before the Europa League game with Salzburg, Emery said McGinn will be ‘more or less’ six-eight weeks.

Return date : March

Marco Bizot

Suspension : Red card vs Newcastle

What’s been said : Emery reacted to the tackle which saw Bizot dismissed: “The red card is a difficult circumstance for him. I can’t complain to him. It’s something to get as an experience to learn.”

Return date : February 27 vs Wolves

Andres Garcia

Injury : Hamstring

What’s been said : On January 28 Emery said: “Andres Garcia is out for three weeks. He has a hamstring injury, a small injury.”

Return date : Three weeks takes Garcia to this weekend, although even if he does return it would likely only be on the bench.

Matty Cash

Injury : Knee

What’s been said: Speaking last week Emery said: "He was injured, with a small injury. I don't know if he will be available for Saturday. Each day is important for how he is progressing."

Return date: February 21

Alysson

Injury: Undisclosed

What's been said: Alysson did not feature for Aston Villa against Newcastle United in the FA Cup due to a small injury. The winger was experiencing discomfort before the match after picking up a knock in training and was therefore not included in the matchday squad.

Return date: TBC
