Arsenal has rewarded one of its own.
[BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel reports](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c4gje501g51o) the Premier League leaders have agreed to a new five-year deal with Bukayo Saka to make him the club’s highest-paid player at over £300,000 a week.
The deal takes the 24-year-old England winger through 2031.
A native of West London, Saka joined the Gunners academy at age 7 in 2008. He made his first team debut in 2018 in a Europa League match against Vorskla Poltava and scored his first goal, also in Europa League play, against Eintracht in the fall of 2019.
In eight Premier League seasons, Saka has made 217 appearances, scoring 57 goals and adding 48 assists. This season, Saka has four goals and three assists in 22 games played. Saka was a member of the Arsenal squad that won the 2020 FA Cup. He was named the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2023.
Internationally, Saka made his senior debut for the Three Lions in 2020 and has been capped 48 times, scoring 14 goals. He’s appeared at two Euros and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Arsenal sits four points clear of Manchester City atop the table with 12 matches remaining. They return to action on Wednesday with a visit to bottom side Wolves. Arsenal has not won a Premier League title since 2004.
