Dennis Cirkin contract latest as Sunderland full-back speaks
Cirkin has echoed that stance, stressing after the game against Oxford United that his focus remains on the pitch rather than negotiations. “Still in the same position, yeah, still quite relaxed, still got the rest of the season to play out, so we’ll see how it goes.”
With no extension agreed at this stage, Sunderland will be aware that clarity will eventually be required, particularly given the importance of the full-back role in Le Bris’ system.
Sunderland linked with Roland Sallai transfer move
Sallai joined Galatasaray from SC Freiburg in September 2024 and has since become a regular in Istanbul. Though primarily deployed at right-back, he has also featured at left-back and in more advanced wide roles. Across 64 appearances for the Turkish champions, he has contributed seven goals and seven assists, with one goal and six assists coming this season. According to the report, Sunderland made what were described as “serious attempts” to sign the defender in January. It remains unclear why a deal did not materialise or what fee would be required this summer.
Victor Muñoz bid revealed as Florent Ghisolfi targets reinforcements
Journalist Matteo Moretto has revealed that Sunderland made a £20million offer to CA Osasuna for Victor Muñoz, with Real Madrid retaining 50 per cent of the player’s rights.
The 22-year-old attacker has made 25 appearances this season, scoring five goals and registering four assists. Wilson Isidor future in doubt amid Everton interest
There could also be potential outgoings this summer. Sources have told Football Insider that Wilson Isidor may push for a move away at the end of the campaign. Everton made an enquiry for the 25-year-old during the January transfer window, but Sunderland were unwilling to sanction a mid-season departure.
