Ahead of the clash, the Premier League have appointed Darren England as the referee, and so we’ve taken a closer look at his record with Everton.
Darren England has overseen more Everton wins than losses
England has taken charge of 15 Everton games throughout his career, with his first dating back to September 2020.
The 40-year-old referee’s last Toffees fixture came earlier this season in the Merseyside Derby, which saw Liverpool win 2-1.

The good news is that England has overseen more wins than losses, so that may provide a bit of comfort for Moyes.

Darren England’s Everton record
As seen in the table above, the official has never actually shown a red card in any of his Everton games, and only two penalties have been awarded.
The Merseysiders were on the right end of both penalty decisions.
Everton’s recent record vs Man United
Everton beat Man United at Old Trafford in the reverse fixture, but that was their only win in the last five meetings.
Aside from that, the Toffees have a pretty poor recent record against Man United, as they’ve lost three of the last five.

22 Feb 2025 Everton v Man United D 2-2 Premier League
24 Nov 2025 Man United v Everton W 0-1 Premier League
Although, since Moyes returned to the club just over a year ago, Everton haven’t lost to United, so that’s certainly a positive to take into the game.
A win on Monday would lift the Merseysiders onto 40 points and perhaps level on points with seventh-placed Brentford, depending on their result against Brighton.
