Leeds bracing for major interest from huge clubs in Farke mainstay - report

Leeds United are now preparing themselves for interest from Premier League rivals in one of Daniel Farke's most important players this summer.

Leeds braced for interest in Farke mainstay

As relieved as the 49ers will be to see Leeds working towards survival as emphatically as they are, nothing is free in the Premier League and they could be about to pay the ultimate price this summer.

Farke's side features a number of impressive players and those players are likely to attract plenty of interest, even if Leeds stay afloat in the top flight.

Players like Wilfried Gnonto, for example, could be heading for the exit door this summer. He's one that the 49ers are reportedly ready to cash in on if the right offer arrives, but there's no doubt that it would weaken Farke's squad.

Ruthless from the 49ers.

What the sale of the Italian would at least do is hand those at Elland Road some increased finances to welcome reinforcements of their own this summer.

The rumour mill is already entering overdrive on that front, with Harry Wilson at the front and centre. The Fulham star is on course to become a free agent at the end of the season and that's when Leeds could land one of the bargains of the summer.

Wilson's not the only name on Leeds' reported radar, either. He's joined by Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney. The midfielder is enjoying an excellent campaign in the Championship and is unlikely to come cheap, especially if Boro secure promotion.

If the Whites want to sign Hackney, then it's not just Gnonto that they'll have to sell and they're already reportedly bracing themselves for interest in another one of their stars this summer.

According to Football Insider, Leeds are braced for interest in Jaka Bijol from several top clubs this summer following an excellent debut campaign at Elland Road.

Leeds must keep hold of "fantastic" Bijol

Whilst the 49ers are ready to sell Gnonto, they must not take the same stance when it comes to Bijol. The towering defender has become one of Farke's most important players and the owners must recognise that if interest from rival clubs arrives in the coming months.

Former Premier League scout Mick Brown recently had his say on the defender, revealing that he expects there to be "a lot of interest" in the central defender this summer.

"Bijol has been fantastic for Leeds so far this season. The problem they might have is, any player playing at a high level for Leeds or any other club in their position is going to attract a lot of interest.

"There’s still a possibility they could go down, they’re not out of it yet, and if that happens they might find it very hard to keep hold of him.

"But even if they don’t, there are a few Premier League clubs who will be looking at him."

Even if there is some temptation to cash in amid potential big offers, Leeds and the 49ers simply must refuse if they want to keep hold of their Premier League place.
