Liverpool have been without a recognised right-back for the past three games.
Liverpool are unlikely to have Jeremie Frimpong back for the trip to Nottingham Forest.
The Netherlands international has suffered fitness woes since his move to Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window. After recovering from a serious hamstring issue, Frimpong sustained a groin problem in the opening four minutes of a 6-0 win over Qarabag in the Champions League last month.
Frimpong's issue was not as bad as first feared but it has been enough to rule him out of the past four matches. It has left Liverpool without a recognised right-back, with Conor Bradley sideined for the rest of the season with a knee problem.
Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo - who is now absent with a foot injury - and Curtis Jones has deputised on the right-hand side of defence. And when Liverpool travel to Forest on Sunday, they are set to again be without a specliast full-back on the right-hand side. Per The Athletic, Frimpong is completing the final stages of his rehab and not expected to feature at the City Ground.
Arne Slot will face a decision over Joe Gomez, too. The versatile defender recently returned from a hip issue and has come off the bench in the past two games. Gomez can play right-back but has had his fitness woes over the past few years. Liverpool may again be cautious with Gomez given that Bradley, Endo and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) are all sidelined.
