However, what lies ahead for him remains to be seen considering he has played 227 minutes of Premier League football across the last two seasons.

Does Seamus Coleman have his coaching badges?

After Everton sacked Sean Dyche, Coleman and Leighton Baines took interim charge of Everton for their FA Cup game against Peterborough United.

The Toffees won that game with the two former Everton teammates stood on the sideline.

Baines remains one of Moyes’ coaching staff, with Coleman admitting that he had already earned his coaching badges behind the scenes.

Seamus Coleman’s Everton career

“Over the past six years I’ve done my coaching badges and, obviously, Leighton has been with the Under-18s,” Coleman said after the match.

“I think we used a mixture of both what he’s been doing tactically and me being myself with the group, trying to make the lads understand the importance of it all and what’s in store for the football club.”

David Moyes would consider Coleman as a future Everton coach

Moyes may still have over a year left on his own deal, but the 62-year-old has admitted he would consider Coleman’s future in any role at Finch Farm.

Coleman still thinks he can contribute on the pitch at Everton, but the reality is that the Blues are looking for an upgrade at right-back.

In the recent win over Fulham, despite being fit to play, Coleman was omitted from the squad as he watched from up in the stands alongside the suspended Everton manager.

“Seamus is too important to this club. The club owes Seamus so much,” said Moyes.

“So we want Seamus to be around us, whether he’s a player or whether he is on the staff or whether he’s a groundsman, we want Seamus Coleman to be around, we certainly do, because he’s too important around this football club.”
