Thirteen decades on, the size of the result over Rotherham is one Liverpool have yet to surpass in a league match.
They have, though, won by a nine-goal margin in league action on two occasions since, beating Crystal Palace 9-0 in 1989 and AFC Bournemouth by the same scoreline in 2022.
Overall, the four times the Reds have equalled or bettered that 10-1 against Rotherham have come in European and cup competitions.
An 11-0 defeat of Stromsgodset in the Cup Winners' Cup first round in 1974 remains the club's largest ever victory.
Next-best are 10-0 wins over Dundalk in a 1969 European tie and Fulham in the League Cup in 1986.
There was also a 10-1 victory for Liverpool when Oulu Palloseura visited Anfield in the European Cup in 1980.
