Alexis Mac Allister is seeking new contract talks with Liverpool, with the midfielder's father shooting down reported interest from Manchester United.
Mac Allister will be three years into a five-term deal at the end of the current campaign, having joined for an initial £35m in the summer of 2023 from Brighton & Hove Albion.
And earlier this week, the Argentina international was linked with a surprise advance from United but the player's father, Carlos, insists the 27-year-old is fully focused on his current club.
In a short statement given to winwin.com, Mac Allister senior, himself a former professional with Boca Juniors and Argentina, revealed his son is awaiting developments over a new deal with the Reds.
"Alexis is only thinking about Liverpool at the moment," Mac Allister said. "We are waiting for an offer to renew his contract. We'll see what the club's plan is."
Mac Allister, who has lifted silverware in both seasons at Anfield to date, was instrumental in last term's Premier League triumph as he turned out 25 times for Arne Slot's side.
