Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne is reportedly attracting interest from his former club, Lille.
Having come through the ranks at the French side, Lille are said to be keen on bringing him back this summer.
Digne is contracted to Villa until 2028, after signing a new deal nearly six months ago.
He had been entering the final year of his previous contract at the end of last season, but Villa moved to extend his stay by three more years.
By the summer, Digne will have two years remaining on his current contract, meaning this upcoming transfer window will likely be the last opportunity for Villa to secure a reasonable fee for him.
The 32-year-old will turn 33 in July, possibly while representing France at the World Cup in the USA.
Meanwhile, Ian Maatsen appears to have taken over as Villa’s first-choice left-back. While Digne still plays an important role in the squad, he could be allowed to leave this summer, depending on Unai Emery's stance on the defender's future.
According to Media Foot, Lille’s management “dream” of Digne’s return, and a reunion is reportedly “on the table.”
So far this season, Digne has made 30 appearances for Villa, starting 15 times in the Premier League.
He has also started four games in the Europa League and once in the FA Cup.
