Three Premier League players at risk of relegation who would be perfect for Liverpool to sign - opinion

We’re entering into the final third of the Premier League campaign, and the relegation battle could provide transfer opportunities for Liverpool.

With 12 games to play, we are starting to get an idea of who could be set for the drop.

Wolves have had their fate sealed for months now, and Burnley also look pretty far off survival. Tottenham are by no means safe either, but you have to imagine they will keep their heads above water.

Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Leeds are the other teams floating around the danger zone.

If you were forced to sell one Liverpool player to Manchester United, who goes?

Here are three players Liverpool should be looking at from teams at risk of going down.

Liverpool could get a bargain from Wolves, West Ham and Nottingham Forest

The first, and most obvious, is 18-year-old Mateus Mane.

Liverpool want to sign Mane, and with Wolves heading down, they will find it hard to stave off interest. The youngster is a versatile attacking midfielder/winger who has been their best player for at least the last month.

Other clubs want him as well, so the Reds would be wise to get working on a deal.

If West Ham are to go down, there will be 17 teams interested in captain Jarrod Bowen. His proven track record of scoring goals in the Premier League is something any manager would be tempted by.

Looking at Forest, they are stacked with talent and would be the shopping destination of the summer if they can’t escape relegation. From Murillo to Morgan Gibbs-White to Callum Hudson-Odoi, they have quality all over the pitch.

Liverpool should be looking at Elliot Anderson. He has taken his game to a new level this season and would offer something different to the midfield unit. He can do a bit of everything, and the prospect of a double-pivot of sorts with Ryan Gravenberch is a tasty proposition.

If a team is going down to the Championship, they relinquish much of the bargaining power. FSG wouldn’t need to break the bank for a player like that.

Jarrod Bowen would be an interesting Liverpool signing

Of the three, Bowen is probably the least obvious.

But he would be a very smart bit of business. Mo Salah could leave Liverpool in the summer, and there needs to be a contingency plan in place.

The West Ham star provides consistency, leadership and experience. He wouldn’t be the long-term Salah replacement, but he could serve as a bridge to the next superstar out on the right wing at Anfield.

Discuss: Diomande has already proven he’s the BEST replacement for Mo Salah!

Diomande, Doue, Williams and Barcola have been named as potential options…

He would also be a fantastic depth option beyond that marquee signing.

We still don’t know what the relegation picture will look like come the end of the season, but whoever goes down will have talent that could improve Arne Slot’s side.
